Weeksville Heritage Center-Volunteer Opportunities

Looking for ways to give back, become a valued partner with the Weeksville team?

Weeksville Heritage Center is looking to establish volunteer corps who are interested in assisting our teams with events, rentals, and programmatic needs. This would include the setup and breakdown of programs and events, wayfinding, light housekeeping, grounds maintenance & greeting visitors and guests in conjunction with Weeksville staff.

Building Operations Manager

The Building Operations Manager will oversee and perform repairs and maintenance of the WHC main building, and the landmarked historic houses. They will be responsible for ensuring that facilities are clean, safe and machinery, equipment and codes are in compliance with all required regulations and standards. More specifically, this position will manage and oversee the maintenance of fire, plumbing, electrical and security systems in the administrative building/offices and the historic homes.

Development Director

The Director of Development is a member of our executive team. The incumbent is responsible for the development and execution of all fundraising, marketing and communications activities for the organization. WHC is at a very important moment in the organization’s trajectory. Weeksville Heritage Center currently focuses on government and institutional giving, while individual and corporate funding are emerging areas and the Director of Development will work closely with the President and CEO and others to increase its funding diversification. A number of new programs are underway and this is an ideal time and position for a candidate who appreciates the opportunity to build a team and help determine the direction of fundraising at Weeksville Heritage Center. The Director of Development will work with the CEO and others to craft a vision of a progressive arts, culture, and historical organization that is focused on engaging the public through programs, education, preservation and collections.

Visitor Services Representative

The Visitor Services Representative is the first point of contact between Weeksville and most of its public visitors and is essential to building awareness, continued visitors, and overall relations with the wider community. The Visitor Services Representative provides exceptional customer service to visitors and general information to the public about Weeksville Heritage Center through walk-ins and tours as well as calls and online inquiries.
